Materials DC (an affiliated chapter of ASM International) brings together people who live and work in the Washington, D.C., area and have a common interest in materials science and engineering. We are a diverse, collaborative, dynamic group of people who use the organization to network and develop personally. Our activities are fun and keep us up to date on both technology and policy in the materials field.

Since our founding over 85 years ago, the DC chapter and its members have been very active in the areas of metallurgy and materials research, development, and production and have acute interest in the nation's R&D policy as it applies to materials. Although our official affiliation is with ASM International, you do not need to be an ASM member to attend our meetings or events. We strive to be a information resource to the broader DC materials community and appreciate your interest in us.
